WhatsApp is rolling out a new 'Close Friends' feature for its status updates, similar to Instagram’s. This update will allow users to share their status with a chosen group of contacts, enhancing privacy while sharing personal content.
The latest iOS beta version (25.23.10.80) is set to arrive soon. With this feature, users can opt to share their status with everyone in their contact list or limit it to their Close Friends, with special updates highlighted by a unique colour ring.
Notably, users won’t receive notifications if changes are made to someone's Close Friends list, and all updates will automatically disappear after 24 hours while ensuring end-to-end encryption for added security.
