Doha, Qatar: The hottest period of summer is set to begin today (July 16) in Qatar.
According to Eng. Faisal A. Al-Ansari, Executive Director of the Qatar Calendar House, said the Jamrat Al-Qayz season, the hottest period of the summer, starts on Wednesday, July 16.
Al-Ansari mentioned in a statement to the Qatar News Agency that this season is anticipated to last 39 days and encompass three internal seasons such as Al Jawza Al Thanya, Al Murzam, and Al Kileibein.
He highlighted that this period is marked by the year's highest temperatures, with some areas in the Arabian Peninsula experiencing highs of up to 50°C.
