Doha, Qatar: The Qatari men's beach volleyball duo, Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, has climbed to fifth place in the world rankings released by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
The team achieved total 5,720 points after competing in 10 tournaments this season. A key highlight was their recent gold medal victory at the Gstaad World Championship (Elite 16) in Switzerland, which wrapped up last Sunday, contributing 1,200 points to their total.
The Norwegian duo, Anders Berntsen Mol and Christian Sorum, remains in first place with 8,560 points, followed by the Argentinian duo, Nicolas and Tomas Capogrosso, in second with 6,520 points. The Dutch team of Stefan Boermans and Yorick de Groot are third with 5,920 points, while the Swedish duo, David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig, are fourth with 5,780 points.
